The ITVFest is coming up August 1-7 and again Chris Miller and Phil Lord will be attending. So for anyone living in California (8000 Sunset Blvd, LA, CA) and fans of Clone High you have no excuse but to attend, ask questions and report back. I think you all know the appropriate question to ask. Joan or Cleo or this mysterious Jah-Cle I keep hearing Abe stammer on and on about?

And speaking of Chris Miller and Phil Lord, Sony has made an announcement about their upcoming “Cloudy, With a Chance of Meatballs” movie. Two major points were stated. That it should be arriving in front of your eyes January 15, 2010, and that you should bring both of said eyes to the theater, because it will be seen in 3-D. You can read the full article over at the wonderful Animation Magazine’s website.

Bill Oakley and one of the shows’ writers of Sit Down Shut Up (”aka Class Dismissed”) did not agree to the “compromise contract” between the creators/writers of the show and Sony Pictures TV. Josh Weinstein and the rest of the writers have remained on the show. You can read up more about the temporary break-up here and here.
I am very interested in how this will affect the series. Mission Hill was the show it was because of their collaborative effort. But since it’s going to show on Fox, we all know how it will go. Maybe a couple episodes will be shown in random order and regardless, a fan-base will grow around it but then it will be canceled.

Zach Braff has only one more season of Scrubs in him, at least as a starring role. When reached for comment, Bill Lawrence, producer of Clone High, said “The end of the show will be about J.D. leaving the hospital.” As you may already have known the show was not picked back up by NBC, but thankfully CBS did pick up the show and will air mid-season 2008-09. Read more about it here.

If you are a fan of the cartoon show MTV Downtown, which I have never mentioned on this blog before, well then you’re in luck, because for $25 dollars, you can get an “official ‘promotional’ dvd of all episodes with some commentaries” from the creator, Chris Prynoski, on his new blog. I have ordered received mine and I haven’t even seen one episode yet other than a quick clip on YouTube. If you’re a fan, get it, if you’re like me and haven’t seen it, check out some clips, or wait for a review or two.

I apologize for the long wait, especially for those who wrote in for the contest. I still haven’t gotten in all the prizes. I’m waiting on a CafePress shirt, and Clone High from Amazon.ca ( it was backordered, but they say its on the way). I wanted to send out all the prizes on one day.
I have been pouring my time into setting up my N-E-W computer! Luckily ToonBoom is compatible with Vista.
Good news for fans of Mission Hill. Bill Oakley and Josh Weinstein are now working on a new Fox Animated show, “Sit Down, Shut Up.” Entertainment Weekly has the news:
” (FROM VARIETY) – Bill Oakley and Josh Weinstein, former executive producers on The Simpsons, have been named exec producers on Fox’s new animated comedy Sit Down, Shut Up. The show, initially set up by Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz (who also wrote the first script) and his producing partners, Eric and Kim Tannenbaum, is based on an Australian live-action sitcom. The animated U.S. version is about seven staff members at a dysfunctional high school in a small northeastern fishing town and how their egos and personal agendas trump students’ needs. Fox has not yet officially picked up the new show, though naming Oakley and Weisntein executive producers seems to indicate that will happen shortly. The duo’s other credits include the animated WB comedy Mission Hill and UPN’s live-action comedy The Mullets.”
EDIT* According to TVSquad, Will Forte will be lending his voice to the show. The circle of this website is now complete.
Something to tide you all over, some new screenies. Stay tuned.

Omg, finally, right? I know. Seriously…
 |
So, for a Mission Hill DVD, “What happens to the real basketball coach in the Homecoming episode of Clone High?”
As our winner, Steph Fallon, puts it: Scudworth kills the first basketball coach in the episode ’shot in d’arc’ |
 |
For a Clone High DVD, “What are the four magazines/newspapers Andy submits his cartoons to in Mission Hill?”.
As our winner, Robbie Koenigs puts it: Dude, definitely: Esquire, The New Yorker, Playboy, and Cat Fancier. And Definitely, it is. |
 |
For a DVD of “The Brothers Solomon” written by and starring our lovable Abe, Will Forte, answer a question that you need to know a little of both Mission Hill and Clone High. “What side story do Posey from Mission Hill and Gandhi from Clone High have in common?”
As our winner, Dr. Higgins states: Ghandi and Posey each go on spiritual journeys led by female guides! |

 |
Questions above too easy for you? Well then here’s a hard one. For a Serenity DVD - “What is this random Mission Hill sketch I purchased?” ID it for me, be the randomly selected winner and you’ll get yourself a copy of the Special Edition DVD of Serenity. (Tell me what episode it occurs in, as well as what are the circumstances of it and you could win.)
Well, apparently that question was too hard. I had no responses to it, thus no answer to this eternal question of what friggin’ cel did I just waste money on?!? |
 |
For your choice of merchandise from the Mission Hill Cafepress store, “Toby has a band sticker on his gym locker. Name the band.”
Again, no answer. Jeez, this one was easy guys and girls. It was Silly Rabbit of course, silly. |
 |
For your choice of merchandise from the Clone High Cafepress store, “Who lives next door, to the right, of Cleo?”.
As our winner Brice Dawson puts it: If you were to stand on Cleo’s porch and look towards the camera Gandhi can be seen to the right running through a sprinkler in “Plane Crazy”. (He went with a Gandhi’s Missing Kidney shirt. Fab choice there Brice. You’ll totally pick up all those girls who’ll think you care about stuff and donate blood and your time at children’s hospitals. I suggest you wear the shirt everyday. |
 |
And for another chance to win your choice of merchandise from the Clone High Cafepress store, “Whats a difference about Mr. Butlertron that can be seen in the opening of the show?”
As our winner Catherine Menoudakis puts it: Mr.Butlertron is seen in the beginning of the show without a mustache. [when Scudworth can be seen digging up Abe’s body.] She went with an equally cool, custom “JFK - NO FATTIES” shirt. |
 |
And lastly, to whom was Tina talking to at the end of “Andy and Kevin Make a Friend (or One Bang for Two Brothers)” when she said that “they had a lot in common, but they need to grow up some”?
Okay, so it was a trick question, but I at least expected some answers sent in. [And it was totally Andy. Saying that to Kevin just wouldn’t make sense.] |
|
“Who voiced Becka Michelle Butterfield in Mission Hill? Anyone get this yet?!? |
=============================

Brothers Solomon Movie Review
And a couple weeks ago, I mentioned that I would return with a Brothers Solomon movie review. I have watched the movie twice, and it definitly does get better the more times you see it. But since I have no time to write such a review, I’ll link you to someone who has written a pretty cool review of the movie that pretty much sums up my feelings about it. Check it out here.

I admit that it’s been a while since the last update, especially with a contest having just occurred. But with the latest post, I wanted that to take precedence and let it sink in. That was the single-most enthralling post since my big snooping/4 a.m. update years ago in which we learned about how the idea for every episode of Clone High was born. As an excuse, I’d like to mention that I’ve been looking for a house and also a reception hall constantly in my free time.
And I was unaware that my new version of this page was breaking on a lot of monitors. I had designed in, wrongly, on my widescreen monitor with a large resolution, and when I happened to check out my site on a normal monitor, I didn’t know my site was broken. So until the next version is ready, the default will have to do. A similar problem happened on my first site unveiling, when I forgot to upload the CSS file and the site looked horrible.
Ok, so before the end of the week, the emails should be out to the winners of the contest. Some have gone out already. More to come.
