Characters
Right from the beginning you assemble your crew as Dave Miller, the boyfriend of the kidnapped Sandy, and pick two friends from your school to go up to the mansion and rescue Sandy.
The Good Guys
Dave Miller - the main character of Maniac Mansion, and the bravest of all the crew. He's Sandy's boyfriend, the girl kidnapped by Doctor Fred.
Sandy - has been kidnaped to be used on Dr. Fred's evil machine, that will suck her pretty brains out. Daves organizes a group to rescue her, and she's the main reason why Maniac Mansion happens in the first place.
Michael - a great photographer who was awarded by the university's newspaper. He'll help reveal the plans of Weird Ed.
Syd - an aspiring musician trying to start his own new-wave band.
Wendy - wants to be a famous novelist and is waiting for a big break.
Razor - is the lead singer for the punk band "Razor and the Scummettes". She heard that Dr. Fred was cute.
Jeff Woodie - likes the beach and responds to the name "Surfer Dude". Works at the local pizza shop.
Bernard Bernoulli - the president of the Physics Club and won the college's geek award. On Maniac Mansion, he's afraid of everything, including the tentacles.
Meteor Police - They appear on Maniac Mansion. They have been looking for the evil purple meteor for a long time. You can call them, and they can capture the meteor.
Edisons and Evil
Dr. Fred Edison - he becomes insane thanks to the power of the meteor and he thinks he will take over the world. Dr Fred is the owner of the mansion.
Edna Edison - a very odd character who stays most of her time in her room starved of love.
Weird Ed Edison - Nurse Edna and Doctor Fred's son. He's very important on Maniac Mansion because he helps you get rid of the meteor if you don't do anything bad like picking up his hamster and putting in the microwave. He wants to get rid of the meteor that has turned crazy his father.
Dead Cousin Ted Edison - mummified and left to protect the bathroom, which makes us wonder how long it's been since someone has used their seemingly one and only bathroom in the mansion
Purple Tentacle - he helps Dr. Fred with many things to take over the world. He goes to fix problems when something is wrong as it can cause a meltdown or upset the meteor.
Green Tentacle - a mostly depressed tentacle, but has a band, Green T and the Sushi Platter, and they play very loud music.
The Meteor - the cause of the whole mansion mess. It controls Dr. Fred so he can become powerful and take over the world. It's purple, slimy, and radioactive. It must be stopped!
Wrong Place, Wrong Time
Weird Ed's Hamster - a hamster, which can meet it's untimely doom with a run in with the microwave
Mark Eteer - he'll publish anything.
