Awhile ago, I mentioned that some guys had gone through a lot of trouble creating a Quake level of the DOTT mansion, and a guy who, for a school project, created a fake sequel to DOTT, using Maya to show key shots. No game was made, but a minor storyline is coherent throughout his description of those key shots. After looking through my files, I can't seem to find the actual Quake level file, but I do think I have it. I'll post the document, but I'll have to later post the level file.
Mats Berglinn started a thread on the AGS forums in August 2005 about how to best update the MM Cast to DOTT. The thread seems to have run it's course, so I compiled the whole discussion with it's great images and created a document out of it. It's 30 pages, with very talented artists lending a hand to helping Mats tune his ability better. They offer very nice paintovers and very cool pixely characters that we all love in DOTT-style.. A PDF version will be available soon, but for now, it is a Microsoft Word document.
In July 2005, Edge Magazine came out with this great article that looks back at the time when Maniac Mansion was being created, and talks with the big names about what went on back then.
